Jonathan Leger's "Search Engine Myths Exposed" Reviewed

This is an unbiased review of Jonathan Leger's "Search Engine Myths Exposed" ebook report.

This is a free report that Jonathan Leger ( creator of the famous $7 script ) just released. I am sure if you are subscribing to any IM newsletters, surely you will have received emails promoting this free ebook.

I will usually download free reports but after a while you will like me developed a natural skepticisms about them. Some free reports are nothing more than sales letters with tonnes of affiliate links disguised as free reports to get you to part money. Anyway as I noticed the ebook is by Jonathan Leger I decided to download and read it and here is my take on it. You can then decide if it's worth your time to download and read it.

The ebook is in PDF format which you get to download after giving your name and email. You will received the download instruction in an email. The report contain 49 pages and can be easily read within an hour.

What is "Search Engine Myths Exposed" about?

Well the title is a give away, it is exposing common held myths about search engines and in particular Google. These myths are probably scattered across the Internet in forums and online discussion boards. What Jonathan had done is to compile 7 myths into an ebook. The 7 myths are related to Google and they are:

Myth #1: Google Knows All and Sees All
Myth #2: Google Will Not Rank Duplicate Content
Myth #3: You Must Get Links From Related Subject Sites to Rank
Myth #4: Your Site Must Focus On One Subject To Rank
Myth #5: High PageRank Means Good Rankings
Myth #6: To Maintain Good Rankings, You Must Add New Content
Myth #7: Ranking in Google is Hard

There is short introduction why the ebook came about and after that Jonathan goes straight to debunk the 6 myths. He went through each myth and debunk them with examples. Overall, I found the arguments he presented to debunk the myths a nice read and I definitely learned a thing or two. I particularly like how he tackled myth 2 and 6. I too was under the wrong impression until reading this report.

As for Myth #7, he presented a case study website to show how a new website can easily rank well in Google. Basically his advise to rank well are these:

#Make sure you have some on-page relevancy.
#Make sure your title tag contains the correct keywords.
#Get lots and lots of links.

Link building is the most important here and Jonathan went the length to discuss the proper ways to go about building up links. The ebook ends with him presenting results of the case study website. The results presented are traffic growth and adsense earnings of this website over the course of 4.5 months. The case study website made use of a linking service which he runs ( more of this latter).

Is it worth reading "Search Engine Myths Exposed"?

In short YES. Reading it has added knowledge to me and I am sure I have gained positively from the report.

Off course, Jonathan is not just giving away a free report without gaining any thing back. Yes it is free because there is no need to pay, but you have to give your name and email address, so he gained a name to his list. So he is building his list with this free report. Furthermore he is paying 25 cents to people who refer others to this report. So list building is one of his aim.

The other thing he hopes to gain is for people to sign up for his linking service. The linking service is found at 3waylinks.net which has a monthly free to join. If you download the free report you will be presented with an offer to join the service at a cheaper rate ( this is similar to OTO types ). If you did not take up the offer and you wish to join the linking service after reading the report the link service site link is in the report. So he gains both ways. Furthermore the report will serve as a long term marketing tool for his products and services.

Well I am not here to judge, it is his report and he has the right to do what he seems fit with it. What I am doing is just sharing with you what to expect when you go through the down load process. After this you can decide if you wish to download the report to read or not.
